Ted is a graduate of San Jacinto High School in
Houston. He has a B.A. Degree in journalism from Louisiana State
University. He was senior manager of the varsity football team at
L.S.U., president of Sigma Delta Chi, national honorary professional
journalism fraternity, and president of the Texas Club. He was also
student, campaign manager for Russell Long, former U.S. Senator from
Louisiana. Long was elected president of the L.S.U. student body for two
successive terms.
Ted served from 1940 to 1945 with the 36th infantry
Division and attained the rank CAPTAIN; He made the invasion of Salemo,
Italy and was interned as a prisoner of war for twenty-one months. He
holds a Purple Heart, a Cluster to the Purple Heart, and the Combat
Infantryman's Badge.
Ted has owned the Ted Roggen Advertising/Public
Relations Agency since 1945. He has been active in community affairs,
and was twice honored by the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce as the
"Man of the Month".
Over the past 52 years, Ted Roggen has
provided quality advertising, public relations, television, radio and
billboard services to a long list of well known established businesses.
In 2003, Ted Roggen published the
book Press Releases as part of the Writers' Club Press
in San Jose, New York, Lincoln, and Shanghai. The book
was published by I Universe, Inc., located in Lincoln,
Nebraska.
